Northstar Winery Proposal

It was a bright and fresh spring day in Walla Walla, Washington. April 28th had given us a lot of hope that spring was indeed here and it was going to produce a wonderful kick off to the growing season. James and I dropped our kiddos off with their Aunt B and Uncle Jack and headed off solo to be professional creepers...

I have to confess I felt like I was waiting for this sweet day for a while. Watching Jared and Emmy's relationship grow and thrive, even from afar, made me feel like I was anticipating how Jared would propose. I also just knew that I wanted to be there. Soooo when I heard that Joelle, Cassidy, and Jantzen were going to help Jared surprise Emmy, I asked if I could come. I know. Creepy. My only defense? I like capturing these kind of precious moments. Especially for people I love. Emmy has this ability to make people feel like they have known her all her life. I haven't but I fall into this category. Wait until you see her smile. Anyone who knows her even a little bit will hear her laugh when they see these smiles... Jared has a wise head on his shoulders and a love for people. While planning this out he made sure to stop the conversation about how he was going to propose, to say congratulations to James for his career change and to our families new adventure.

Jared and Emmy have known each other since they were just little kiddos. They have this deep friendship that follows their passionate love for the Lord. While they dated they continued to seek the Lord's guidance, even taking a little bit of a break while Emmy traveled to do her DTS for Youth With a Mission. The week she got back Jared asked her to go to Dairy Queen with him where they both confessed their feelings for each other. It wasn't long after that Jared read Isaiah 62:5, "As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you." It was just the nudge he needed to make this next step toward God's awesome gift of marriage.

Congratulations Emmy and Jared!! James and I are so looking forward to cheering you on during the next phases of your life together! You are on your way! Keep following Jesus and be used for His glory!

The stage was set... Now we hide behind pillars, mini vans (who's ridin so hard?!), and a pickup truck.

Emmy thought they were taking over someone's picnic... Secret well kept Jared! Surprise is a success!! Did you all hear her laugh??
